Job Summary
Lead Global Project Governance & Delivery Excellence.
The International Project Director provides strategic oversight, operational leadership, and financial governance for a complex portfolio of global projects. This role designs cross-border execution frameworks, aligns stakeholder expectations across multiple regions, and manages international market risks to deliver high-value programs on time and within budget.
This role is primarily office-based at our headquarters in Doetinchem. However, for candidates located elsewhere in the Netherlands, we offer a hybrid working model with flexibility, while maintaining regular on-site collaboration.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer with close collaboration with international project teams across NSI.
Job Description:
Strategic Global Project Alignment & Governance
Map multi-country project roadmaps to ensure global execution aligns with corporate goals.
Standardize and optimize processes, methodologies, tracking tools, and reporting frameworks across international offices.
Evaluate and optimize internal workflows to maintain high efficiency across cross-border portfolios.
Financial & Resource Management
Review large-scale, multi-currency budgets and track financial forecasts together with local teams
Optimize global resource allocation, balancing workloads across regional teams.
Negotiate high-value contracts with international suppliers and third-party vendors together with local teams and Global Procurement.
If needed step in and solve together with local teams serious issues in projects related to planning, technology, result and client relation
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, costs, revenue, and cash flow
Prepare monthly project financial reports, KPIs, and performance analyses to follow project advancement and execution
Track project milestones, risks, deviations, and corrective actions
Develop dashboards and management reports using digital tools
Support audits, internal controls, and contractual compliance
Collaborate with project managers, finance, procurement, and engineering teams
Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digitalization of project controls
Leadership & Multicultural Collaboration
Train and mentor regional Project Managers.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment within the various entities of NSI
Establish clear performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for global teams.
Risk, Compliance & Stakeholder Relations
Monitor cross-border legal constraints, local labour laws, and geopolitical risks.
Ensure strict adherence to international data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
Serve as the primary liaison with Board and Shareholders together with the Chief Operating Officer for projects.
Job requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8–10 years of senior project management experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience directly leading cross-functional, remote, or international teams.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) required. Lean , Six Sigma Black Belt
Proven international experience managing multi-million EUR budgets across at least two continents.
Advanced proficiency in enterprise PM software (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project) and SharePoint portals.
Fluency in English is required; professional proficiency in a second language is highly preferred.
Exceptional cross-cultural communication, advanced risk-mitigation planning, and executive negotiation skills.

You will receive annual salary in the range of €100,000 – €120,000 gross per year, plus comprehensive benefits, offered on a permanent contract.
