Finance Director

We are a leading international developer and supplier of water and wastewater treatment technologies for power plants and industry, part of the French Saur Group, which operates in 140 countries worldwide. We design, sell and implement innovative water treatment solutions and services in close cooperation with international partners and our customers.
Summary
The Finance Director serves as the regional financial and operational steward, ensuring sustainable profitability, governance, and strategic support for the industrial water business. Partnering closely with the Regional Managing Director and Business Unit CFO, this role drives financial performance, supports digital transformation, and embeds ESG principles across Life Cycle Services, Engineered Systems & Solutions, and Manufacturing operations. The Finance Director acts as a catalyst for growth, providing actionable insights and ensuring that regional operations align with global standards for transparency, compliance, and long-term value creation.
The Finance Director reports to the CEO of Flootech.
The role is primarily office-based in Turku, Finland with occasional domestic and international travel.
Job Responsibilities
Financial leadership & strategic growth
· Lead regional financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling to enable growth in manufacturing, Life Cycle Services, and engineered solutions.
· Provide timely, data-driven insights to the Regional MD and BU CFO to guide investment, risk management, and capital allocation.
· Aligning regional reporting and governance with BU according to company standards, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
· Champion digital finance tools, predictive analytics, and automation to enhance decision-making and agility.
Business support & governance
· Oversee regional finance, accounting, IT (digital finance focus), and legal & compliance teams, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
· Implement robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and internal audit follow-ups to protect assets and maintain excellence governance.
· Drive regional IT strategy, including cybersecurity and digitalization, to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency in close cooperation with and under guidance from BU IT department
Operational & lifecycle excellence
· Partner with regional operations, manufacturing, and Life Cycle Services teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize working capital, and improve margins.
· Embed sustainability and circular economy principles into financial strategies, including energy-efficient operations and ESG reporting.
· Utilize advanced analytics to identify performance trends and guide continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & collaboration
· Serve as the key financial advisor to the Regional MD, acting as a trusted partner in strategic and operational decisions.
· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and business support team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.
· Collaborate effectively, Business Unit CFO, BU corporate functions, and regional leadership teams.
· Represent the region to auditors, regulators, banks, and key external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust.
Job Requirements
· Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA desirable.
· Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
· 10–12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in industrial, water, manufacturing, or engineered systems sectors in Finland, Sweden or Nordic Region.
· Proven ability to lead Finance, IT/digital finance, and legal & compliance within a matrix organization.
· Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, governance, and digital transformation.
· Strong understanding of ESG, sustainability reporting, and circular economy concepts.
· Proficiency in English and regional languages to communicate effectively and clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel, including clients, team members, and management.
