Inventory Coordinator

Summary:
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory, spare parts, and warehouse operations across multiple international manufacturing facilities, engineered water systems projects, and life-cycle services. This role ensures optimal stock levels, accurate record-keeping, efficient warehouse processes, and timely availability of components, supporting digitalization, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Digitalization & continuous improvement
Implement / use ERP and warehouse management systems for tracking, reporting, and analytics.
Support automation, barcoding, and digital inventory initiatives.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, and turnaround times.
Inventory management
Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, components, and spare parts.
Monitor and reconcile inventory records using ERP and digital tools.
Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and audits to ensure accuracy.
Analyse inventory turnover, aging, and demand patterns to optimise stock.
Collaborate with procurement, finance, production, and service teams to anticipate material needs.
Spare parts management
Manage spare parts inventory to support life-cycle services and field operations.
Coordinate timely dispatch of spare parts to service teams and customer sites.
Monitor critical spare parts levels and trigger replenishment as needed.
Maintain spare parts documentation, traceability, and reporting.
Collaborate with engineering and service teams to update spare parts lists for new products or retrofits.
Warehouse operations
Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, components, and spare parts.
Ensure safe, organised, and compliant warehouse practices.
Optimise warehouse layout, space utilisation, and storage systems.
Maintain warehouse equipment and tools in good condition.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ensure full traceability of parts by proper labelling, organization, and handling of materials and products.
Sustainability & compliance
Support sustainable storage, handling, and disposal of materials and chemicals.
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
Promote circular economy practices through returns, recycling, and refurbishment.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, engineering, or related field. Professional certifications (APICS, CILT, or equivalent) are a plus.
3–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or spare parts operations in industrial manufacturing, engineered systems, or service operations.
Experience with ERP systems and digital inventory tools.
Proven knowledge of spare parts planning and warehouse logistics.
Exposure to process improvement, lean practices, and KPI tracking.
Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
Travel Requirements
Up to 20% - 40% travel for MWS European Fleet site visits, supplier locations, or customer service support.
Visits to manufacturing plants or project sites may be required.
Working for us means:
The salary is between £40,000 & £50,000 per year, depending on your professional experience.
Holidays 25 + Bank Holidays, buy & sell scheme available.
Probationary Period – 6 months.
Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months - Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice.
Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation.
Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment.
Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
