As PWNT continues to grow, we are expanding our team by hiring a Senior Researcher. This full-time role is part of our Technology Applications & Piloting Department, based in Amsterdam. Within this position you will be leading the technical assessments and decisions for pilot studies of ceramic membrane processes in drinking water production.
What is your purpose?
The (Senior) Researcher - Ceramic Microfiltration is the (upcomming) expert on ceramic microfiltration processes in drinking water production.
You are the link from proof of concept to a full-scale project. You make a pilot testing plan for the project based on raw water properties and project requirements. You examine and interpret the data from trials under varying test conditions and make recommendations to the pilot team for next steps withing the study. You also draft progress and final report.
This is a customer facing position in which you work closely with our Pilot engineers, support- and R&D team.
What will you be doing?
- Developing detailed pilot testing plans.
- Design and optimize experimental conditions for CeraMac® trials. Analyze and interpret data from these trials.
- Identify and quantify key performance indicators and trends of CeraMac®.
- Act as a technical expert in ceramic microfiltration and water treatment chemistry.
- Support the transition from pilot-scale proof of concept to full-scale system design.
- Document key insights, and make progress reports and final reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
What will you bring?
- PhD in a relevant field, such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering or Master’s degree in a relevant field plus sufficient work experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in membrane technology in the water sector.
- Experience in a customer facing role.
- Willingness to travel (two or three times for a week per year)

- Salary is between € 5.500 and 7.000 gross per month (based on 40hr workweek), depending on your professional experience.
