Summary
The Sales Engineer Life Cycle Services, South of Sweden drives regional growth of rental water treatment solutions across the full water cycle and manages installed base activities by strengthening customer relationships and growing services and parts sales. This role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to promote solutions such as filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, dewatering, and wastewater treatment, working closely with Rental Sales, operations, engineering, digital services, and technology teams while supporting the Service Manager in assigned tasks.

The role is home office-based position with frequent domestic and occasional international travel required.
Job Responsibilities
Sales & business development
- Identify new rental opportunities through market research, networking, and inbound lead follow-up.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Identify new CAPEX opportunities through market research, networking, and inbound lead follow-up and share with the applicable CAPEX Sales.
- Conduct discovery meetings with potential clients to assess their water needs.
- Achieve or exceed regional sales targets for rental services and installed base.
- Prepare regional forecasts and input to commercial planning.
Solution design & proposal management
- Collaborate with technical and application engineering teams to scope rental solutions and installed base.
- Prepare proposals including system configuration, logistics, pricing, for parts and services.
- Align solutions with available fleet and resource planning.
- Include remote monitoring or digital services where applicable.
- Present and explain technical-commercial proposals to customer decision-makers (within the installed base).
Customer relationship management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Conduct regular customer meetings, both on-site and remotely.
- Follow up on active jobs to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities.
- Familiarize with customer processes to ensure the correct handling of information, sales activities and operations based on the information gathered from the installed base (e.g. spare part lists, service and maintenance documentation).
- Gather customer feedback to inform solution innovation and service quality improvements.
- Support customers in emergency mobilizations and crisis situations.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Coordinate or execute aftersales orders from order entry to customer delivery for parts.
- Collaborate with regional and global technology centers.
- Coordinate with Operations and Logistics for smooth project mobilization and execution.
- Engage with Global Industry Development Directors to integrate sector-specific insights into sales strategy.
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback with marketing, R&D, and fleet planning teams.
- Contribute to the development of sales tools, digital platforms, and value proposition messaging.
Commercial excellence & market intelligence
- Benchmark market prices and competitor offerings for (temporary) water services.
- Develop pricing strategies that optimize margins and asset utilization where applicable, in coordination with regional centres.
- Monitor trends in sustainability, discharge regulations, and digital transformation in target industries.
- Track customer ESG goals and align (rental) solutions to support these targets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes and KPIs.
Emergency & on-call support
- Coordinate rapid deployment of rental equipment with logistics and service teams and ensure deadlines are met for both emergency as well as CAPEX sales in coordination with the manager.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with customers during high-pressure situations.
- Document and debrief post-emergency actions for learning and process improvements
Sustainability & compliance
- Position NSI as an enabler of industrial sustainability and resilience.
- Ensure all customer offers comply with applicable regulations and safety standards.
- Champion decarbonization, reuse, and water stewardship principles in all commercial activity.
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and training sessions.
- Refine sales tools, templates, and playbooks based on market feedback.
- Represent NSI at industry events, exhibitions, and webinars.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or similar.
- Extensive experience in technical sales, business development in industrial water or process water industries.
- Strong understanding of industrial water treatment processes and customer requirements.
- Experience working in an international, project-driven environment.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, proposal tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent command of English and Swedish with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management.
- Possess a valid Driver's License to drive in the region.
Travel Requirements
Frequent travel (up to 40–60%) across assigned regions for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
Occasional international travel to coordinate with global technology centers or industry teams.
