Your purpose
As PWNT continues to grow, we are expanding our team by hiring a Field Service Engineer. This full-time role is part of our Technology Applications & Piloting Department, based in Amsterdam. The Field Service Engineer will report to the Pilot Team Lead and be a critical member of the team supporting our global pilot projects.
As Field Service Engineer, you will play an essential role in operating and supporting the testing of PWNT's advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and project managers in the Pilot team. Approximately 25% of the time will involve international travel to commissioning and troubleshooting pilot systems at customer sites
What will you be doing? We have listed it for you:
- Inventory Management: Monitoring the inventory of rental equipment, ordering spare parts when needed, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Installation: Setting up and installing equipment at the customer's location, ensuring it functions correctly and safely.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and inspections to ensure that the equipment remains in good working condition during the rental period.
- Customer Support: Providing technical support and guidance to customers regarding the proper use and maintenance of the equipment. Interact with customers to understand their equipment needs, provide guidance on equipment operation, and address any issues or concerns. Deliver excellent customer service and build strong relationships.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including service reports, parts replacements, and work performed.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring that the equipment meets safety and regulatory standards and addressing any compliance issues.
- Training: In some cases, offering training to customers or rental staff on the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment.
What we're looking for
- Technical school diploma or equivalent mechanical and electrical work experience; 2- 3 years of experience as Field Service Engineer (in the water industry) or a similar role (e.g., equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field).
- Have extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge of pumps, instruments, valves, etc. and solution-oriented, troubleshooting mindset and enjoy hands-on work.
- High quality documentation, reporting and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 1-2 weeks at a time and capability to work across cultures and borders.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages, such as Dutch, are a plus.
- Driver’s license or in the process of obtaining one.
